METHODOLOGY · A SHORT DEFENSE
Probabilistic, not prophetic.
We do not pretend to know what an NHL general manager will do at 3:00 on deadline Friday. Nobody does. What we do is listen to every beat reporter, agent leak, and back-channel ping across 22 named sources, score each whisper on a 0–100 credibility index, and only forward what clears a tier threshold.
Every rumor published here is tagged tier 1 (confirmed by two independent sources within six hours), tier 2 (single-source but credible, developing), or tier 3 (unconfirmed — published so you're not blindsided if it surfaces later). We never strip a tier-3 marker because it's inconvenient. We never promote a tier-2 to tier-1 in the newsletter subject line to goose open rates.
The fantasy translation is probabilistic too. We frame every buy/sell call as a base-rate expectation over your league format — points-only, category, head-to-head, keeper — with an explicit note when a move only clears at a certain league size or roster slot. Projections are not promises. The 71.3% hit rate over 842 plays is not a guarantee that the next call lands. It's the honest distribution of being right more often than not, after marking our misses.
